About this blog

Lekkericious - the Homemaker's Shack was originally focused on easy, stress-free home style cooking, designed for busy homemakers who always run out of food ideas to serve. It has evolved, eventually, when my husband changed his lifestyle to a vegan lifestyle. It's not obligatory that I go with him, and I often tell everyone (including myself!) that I'm not vegan. But in all honesty, I have not eaten meat for a long long time, and I like it :). I guess I'm just denying my vegan lifestyle so that I don't put too much pressure on myself that I can't eat meat. Besides, branding yourself as vegan comes with a lot of expectations, which will just make me uncomfortable. So, it's more like, I can eat meat, but I choose not too. Less pressure, easier vegan life.

Here you'll find vegetarian/vegan recipes inspired by other dishes I find from my favorite food blogs. And when I'm inspired, I make vegan version of my favorite meat dishes.

And although it's seldom, you'll see some DIY projects for home decorations, health and beauty write ups, food joint reviews, and some personal happenings I'd like to share with everyone. I hope to not only help enrich your kitchen, but also your lifestyle as a fabulous homemaker.

Bubble Blahs

I work and live at night time. I am a person deprived of natural light. I rarely cook in the morning as I'm almost always asleep, else busy with house chores. As much as I love natural light in my photography, I'm afraid I don't usually have that luxury, unless I sacrifice my sleep, or make an effort to stay up longer during the day to do a cooking + photo session. So I depend on my flash, and sometimes, available light from my fluorescent bulbs. Although, in my opinion, nothing beats the natural light, I am, so far, satisfied with my shots using my flash that I learned to love.

I always look forward to the weekends for some sunlight.
